about

This isn't music for socializing...more like the soundtrack to reflecting on your life as you drive down a deserted road. You either stayed out way too late or are getting up bonkers early. It's still dark out but good news - the sun will shine in just a bit. The samples found on this album are very "Alabama" , from the women's accents found on VHS tapes to the dogs wandering around the studio to the migratory Sandhill whooping cranes that sang loud and proud. The only vocals on the album are James' Grandmother Nell singing a 200 year old Sacred Harp hymn, recorded around the family piano on Thanksgiving. We are indeed thankful.
